Cashier

Argyle Feed Store is seeking a Full-Time Cashier.

• Starting pay $15 an hour
• 40 hours a week
• Tuesday thru Friday
• wanted skills, background or some knowledge of agriculture/small animal care, some experience merchandising products.

Responsibilities

• Customer Engagement – Greet customers as they enter the store and when they arrive at the register. While transacting their sale, engage the customer by asking if they found what they were looking for. Thank them for shopping with us when they are leaving the store and invite them to visit again.
• Cash Register - Responsible for all point-of-sale transactions working the cash register including cash, credit card, check, gift cards, charge accounts, etc… Responsible for completing cash drawer procedures at the end of shift.
• Stocking Shelves & Organizing products
• Animal Care (cats and baby chicks)
• Salesmanship – Must have the ability to sell products in your area of responsibility.
• Cleaning – Maintain cleanliness of register area and front end.

Minimum Requirements

• Must be able to work Flexible Hours
• Must be friendly and able to engage the customer.
• Must be able to read, understand and write legibly.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must have computer skills to be able to learn and operate a point-of-sale system and be able to look up merchandise.
• Must have the ability to be accurate and pay attention to detail.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Must be able to work with and around the products we carry including feed, seed, or poultry (cats & baby chicks) or small animals.
• Must be able to work with and around cleaning supplies.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, lift up to 50 pounds and stand for an extended period of time.
• Must have ability to climb a ladder.
• Must have reliable transportation.
