About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Veterinarian to join our team at Labcorp. In this role, you will be responsible for providing exceptional veterinary care to laboratory animals, ensuring their health and welfare, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
- Delivering high-quality medical and surgical care to laboratory animals through examination, treatment, and guidance.
- Collaborating with the site lead veterinarian to ensure alignment with animal care and welfare regulations.
- Developing and delivering training programs for technicians on general animal health and welfare, as well as common veterinary procedures.
- Reviewing and approving IACUC protocol submissions under supervision.
- Conducting physical examinations of laboratory animals as indicated in protocols and SOP.
- Performing ophthalmic or other veterinary examinations on laboratory animals as required.
- Reporting and addressing animal care concerns effectively.
- Participating in client communication and collaboration.
- Managing complex cases independently.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
- 3 years of veterinary clinical experience or 2 years of experience in Laboratory Animal Medicine.
- For USA positions only: A veterinary license in at least one state and ability to obtain a license and USDA accreditation in the state in which the position is located within 6 months.
- Knowledge of small and large animals used in research.
- Able to work in a laboratory setting with laboratory animals.
