As a Clinical Laboratory Technician, you will work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations and maintain high-quality standards. Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Determining the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
- Performing routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
- Monitoring, operating, and troubleshooting instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
- Making technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- An Associate's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements
- Previous clinical laboratory testing experience (highly preferred)
- ASCP or AMT certification (preferred)
- The ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Proficiency with computers and familiarity with laboratory information systems (a plus)
- A high level of attention to detail, strong communication, and organizational skills
- The ability to pass a standardized color vision screen
- Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs
