Job Overview
We're seeking an experienced Medical Specimen Collector to join our team. As a Phlebotomist, you'll play a critical role in collecting and processing specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring accurate results and exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood samples from patients of all ages using venipuncture and capillary techniques
- Prepare and package specimens for transportation to the laboratory
- Enter patient information into the system accurately and efficiently
- Process billing information and collect payments as required
- Maintain accurate records of patient and specimen information
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and internal stakeholders
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven track record of providing exceptional customer service
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation and a clean driving record (if applicable)
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
- Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency (preferred)
- Previous experience as a phlebotomist (preferred)
