Job Description
Role Summary
As a Phlebotomist at Labcorp, you will play a critical role in our mission by providing exceptional customer service, performing skilled specimen collections, and being the face of our organization. You will work in a fast-paced environment, interacting with patients, clients, and colleagues to ensure seamless operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
- Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, and other medical procedures
- Enter patient information into our database accurately and efficiently
- Process billing information and collect payments when necessary
- Prepare specimens for testing and analysis
- Maintain patient and specimen logs
- Provide outstanding customer service to all patients
- Perform administrative and clerical duties as required
- Travel to additional sites when needed
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred
- Phlebotomy certification or completed training program from an accredited agency or previous experience as a phlebotomist required
- Proven track record in providing excellent customer service
- Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
- Able to work independently or in a team environment
- Comfortable working under minimal supervision
- Reliable transportation and clean driving record if applicable
- Flexible to work overtime as needed
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
