Senior Scientist Vaccine Immunogenicity

Job Summary:
The Senior Scientist focuses on pre-clinical Vaccine Immunogenicity Studies to include the design, execution, and analysis of antiviral and immunogenicity assays for vaccines and biologics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute and design in vitro, laboratory-based contract studies for vaccines to assess anti-viral and immune responses and their potential impact on safety and efficacy.
- Develop, optimize, and validate immunoassays (e.g., Flow Cytometry, cell-based assays) to detect and quantify immune responses.
- Develop, optimize, and validate antiviral assays (e.g., HA/HAI, Plaque assays, MNTs, PRNTs) to detect and quantify viral load.
- Provide input into the development and execution of non-clinical antiviral and immunogenicity testing strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including regulatory, clinical, and biomarker groups.
- Analyze complex immunogenicity data, prepare reports, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other groups within Labcorp to ensure seamless integration of immunogenicity data into overall product development program.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 7-10 years of industry experience in immunogenicity studies for biologics or vaccines.
- Extensive hands-on experience in the development, optimization, and validation of immunoassays (e.g., ELISA, MSD, cell-based assays, flow cytometry, and other immune-based techniques).
- Expertise in analyzing immunogenicity data using advanced statistical methods and bioinformatics tools.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage complex scientific projects and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using scientific software and laboratory automation tools preferred.
- Experience with the immunogenicity testing of gene therapies, biosimilars, or novel biologics preferred.
- Knowledge of global regulatory frameworks for immunogenicity testing (FDA, EMA, etc.) preferred.
- Experience with assay development and validation in a GLP/GxP environment preferred.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Immunology or a related biological science with a strong focus on immunogenicity preferred OR
- Masters degree with more than 10 years of experience.
