LaBella is expanding our due diligence, investigations, and remediation team and is in search of another geologist to support our wide variety of projects. Qualified candidates will have experience conducting field investigations and remediation activities, and preparing reports documenting work performed. Experience with proposal development is a plus.
Duties
- Performing field work throughout New York State
- Soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling
- Perform and / or supervise field activities and drilling on construction projects
- Perform Phase II inspections
- Collect, record, and organize field data in a concise manner
- Data presentation, map creation, and report preparation
- Prepare deliverables on time and within budget.
- Maintain open communication with project team members
- Represent the company in a professional manner and in line with firm's core values
- Conduct work to professional standards and following firm's QA/QC policy
- B.S. degree in Geology, Environmental Science, or Engineering preferred
- 5-10 years of experience in a related local environmental position
- 40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environmental consulting team environment.
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplined group of professionals.
- Strong communication skills (active listening, written, and verbal)
- Organized with strong attention to detail
- Highly motivated, with excellent client service skills and a positive attitude
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Valid NYS driver’s license, lean driving record, and reliable transportation
Competencies / Soft Skills:
- Computer skills including Microsoft office (word processing, database, spreadsheet) and GIS (ArcMap or ARCPro) preferred, and / or ability to learn programs with proper comprehensive training
- Field equipment use such as a photo-ionization detector (PID), pumps, and meters preferred, and / or ability to learn the operation of the equipment with proper comprehensive training.
Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
