Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure.
- Monitor patient status and provide assistance during surgery.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
- Maintain a sterile environment and ensure all surgical instruments and supplies are available and functioning.
- Coordinate with the surgical team to ensure timely delivery of instruments and supplies.
- Assist with preparing and setting up the operating room.
- Document patient care and surgical details in medical records.
- Monitor patient progress during the surgery and communicate with the team.
- Assist in managing emergencies or complications during surgery.
- Provide immediate support in crisis situations.
- Education: Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid state nursing license.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in perioperative or surgical nursing preferred.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required. Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) is preferred.
