Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Direct and manage the day-to-day operations of home health services, ensuring patient care is delivered in accordance with the highest quality standards.
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professional development, and teamwork.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and care protocols in line with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the recruitment, training, and performance management of staff to maintain a well-trained, competent workforce.
- Monitor patient care outcomes and service delivery metrics to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company standards.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all home health program-related matters, including patient care coordination and addressing family concerns.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with healthcare providers, community organizations, and stakeholders to meet the evolving health needs of the community.
- Conduct regular reviews and assessments of service needs and adjust service offerings accordingly to ensure the highest level of care.
- Manage the department’s budget, including staffing, supplies, and resource allocation, ensuring the cost-effective delivery of services.
- Stay updated on emerging industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve the home health program.
- CPR certification required.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kansas.
- A minimum of 2-3 years of supervisory or administrative experience in a home health or community health care environment is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of home health regulations, policies, and best practices.
- Knowledge of healthcare quality metrics and continuous improvement practices.
- Familiarity with budgeting and financial management within a healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, including the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop staff.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, team members, and external partners.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
