Description:
Performs a variety of clerical duties involved in collecting balances due and recording payments to accounts from variety of payors. Answers inquiries from patients and insurance companies regarding account charges, insurance payments and balances due. Serves as liaison between patients/families and all hospital departments, ensuring patients receive all care and services to which they are entitled. Assists patients in interpretation of policies, procedures, services and patient rights. Coordinates and supervises admitting personnel at all points of service. Promotes confidence and accountability by instilling a desire to maintain a high level of customer service to public and all hospital employees. Other job duties as assigned.
Performs the various computer clerical functions necessary to process payments to A/R timely and accurately. Monitor reimbursement for reasonableness.
One to two years previous experience desired.
