- Assist experienced carpenters with tasks and gathering materials on job sites.
- Maintain a clean workspace, service equipment, and perform various duties as needed.
Carpenter Helpers may be responsible for:
- Cutting, fitting, and installing insulation, tile, or linoleum.
- Preparing flooring for tile installation by spreading adhesives.
- Building scaffolding, shoring, and braces.
- Drilling holes in timber and lumber to specified dimensions.
- Holding timbers, lumber, and paneling in place for fastening or cutting.
- Assisting with the layout of foundation, building lines, and anchor bolts.
- Installing trim, cabinets, and toilets.
- Loading and unloading materials from trucks.
- Sanding surfaces using power sanders.
- Measuring, cutting, and shaping wood, plastic, and other materials.
- Loading job materials into installation trucks and securing loads.
- Protecting work areas and customer belongings.
- Cleaning and inspecting work areas before leaving job sites.
- Familiarizing yourself with safety procedures and best practices.
- Participating in on-the-job training programs and learning basic job principles.
- Lifting heavy objects and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Physical strength, hand-eye coordination, endurance, and ability to concentrate.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
- Good math skills and accuracy in reading measurements.
- A positive attitude and strong customer service skills.

- No prior experience required; previous carpentry experience is an advantage.
- Dependable transportation and a valid driver's license.
