Job purpose:
• Responsible for operating a front end loader working with other members of the construction crew to successfully complete projects within specifications and in a quality manner to meet or exceed customer expectations.
Duties and responsibilities:
• Observe hand signals, grade stakes, or other markings when operating machines so that work can be performed to specifications.
• Move materials over various distances around construction sites.
• Perform activities such as backfilling excavations, breaking concrete and asphalt, loading and unloading materials off trucks.
• Lubricates, fuels, and maintains other fluids on machinery.
• Responsible for cleanliness and general housekeeping of the machine.
Qualifications
• Ability to understand the limitation of the machine.
• Working knowledge of operating a front end loader on a pipe crew or road/dirt construction crew.
Job Specific Competencies:
• Minimum of 3 years’ of direct experience in operating different types front end loaders.
• Must be able to perform manual labor (assisting crew members on the ground) in all types of environments and conditions. Physical requirements:
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
. • Must be able to work outdoors and withstand different weather elements.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, crawl, squat, climb, kneel, push, pull, and crouch.
