Excavation Project Manager

Labor Finders of Austell is seeking an experienced excavation project manager. For this position, you will be 
 responsible for overseeing all aspects of an excavation project, from initial planning and site preparation to the completion of digging and earth-moving activities, ensuring the project is executed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with all regulations, while coordinating with subcontractors, managing equipment, and monitoring site conditions to achieve project goals. 

Key responsibilities:

• Project Planning and Budgeting:
  • Analyze project plans, blueprints, and site surveys to develop comprehensive excavation plans. 
  • Estimate project costs, including labor, equipment, materials, and permits. 
  • Create detailed project schedules with milestones and deadlines. 
• Site Management and Coordination:
  • Manage and coordinate the work of subcontractors, including grading crews, hauling companies, and utility locators. 
  • Oversee the mobilization and deployment of excavation equipment. 
  • Monitor site conditions and weather forecasts to identify potential risks and adjust plans accordingly. 
• Safety and Compliance:
  • Implement and enforce strict safety protocols on the excavation site. 
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations related to excavation work. 
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and address safety concerns promptly. 
• Quality Control:
  • Monitor excavation work to ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards. 
  • Conduct quality checks on soil conditions and excavated materials. 
  • Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions. 
• Communication and Reporting:
  • Maintain open communication with clients, engineers, architects, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. 
  • Regularly provide progress reports on project status, including budget updates and potential challenges. 
  • Address any project concerns or changes with appropriate parties. 
• Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks associated with excavation activities, such as ground instability, utility conflicts, and weather conditions. 
  • Develop mitigation strategies to address identified risks. 

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise:
  Strong understanding of excavation techniques, soil mechanics, site grading, and construction safety standards. 
• Project Management Skills:
  Proven ability to plan, execute, and monitor complex projects within budget and timelines. 
• Leadership Abilities:
  Effective leadership skills to manage and motivate a team of subcontractors and crew members. 
• Communication Skills:
  Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders. 
• Problem-Solving Skills:
  Ability to identify and resolve issues that arise during excavation work. 
• MUST be bilingual

Relevant Certifications:
Certified Professional in Construction Management (CPM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), and OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Training.
