Press Brake Operator

Labor Finders of Austell is seeking an experienced press brake operator. In this position, you will be operating press brake machinery to bend and shape metal sheets according to specifications, requiring precision, technical skills, and adherence to safety protocols. 

Responsibilities:

• Setting Up Machines:
  Select and install appropriate tooling, adjust machine settings, and ensure proper alignment to prepare the press brake for specific tasks. 
• Performing Bends and Forming:
  Operate the press brake to bend and shape metal sheets accurately, ensuring that the final product meets specifications. 
• Quality Control:
  Inspect finished products for defects and ensure they meet quality standards and customer specifications. 
• Maintenance:
  Perform routine maintenance on the press brake, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs. 
• Safety:
  Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. 
• Documentation:
  Maintain accurate records of production runs and any necessary adjustments or repairs. 
• Material Handling:
  Load and unload metal sheets and other materials, ensuring proper handling and storage. 
• Troubleshooting:
  Identify and resolve minor machine issues or problems during operation. 
• CNC Programming (if applicable):
  For CNC press brakes, operators may be responsible for programming the machine to perform specific bending operations. 
• Operating Press Brakes:
  Run and maintain press brake machines, including manual, automatic, and CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) types. 
• Interpreting Blueprints:
  Read and understand technical drawings and blueprints to determine required bends, angles, and dimensions. 

Skills & Qualifications:

• Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints accurately. 
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform calculations related to bending angles, dimensions, and material properties. 
• Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding of machine operation, tooling, and metalworking processes. 
• Attention to Detail: Ability to work precisely and accurately to ensure high-quality products. 
• Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and resolve machine issues or problems effectively. 
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations for operating press brake machinery. 
• Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and other team members. 
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks. 
• Computer Skills: For CNC press brakes, operators may need computer skills to operate the CNC software. 
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating press brake machinery, including manual, automatic, and CNC types.
