Shop Helper

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Shop Helper/Assistant to join our team. As a Shop Helper/Assistant, you will provide support to our technicians and mechanics by performing various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our shop. Responsibilities:

• Assist technicians and mechanics with various tasks such as:
  • Cleaning and preparing vehicles for repair
  • Retrieving parts and supplies
  • Running errands for the shop
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes and tire rotations
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment by:
  • Sweeping, mopping, and cleaning the shop floor
  • Restocking supplies and inventory
  • Organizing tools and equipment
• Collaborate with the service advisor to:
  • Manage workflow and prioritize tasks
  • Keep accurate records of repairs and maintenance
  • Communicate with customers about repair status

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary training or certification in a related field preferred
• 1-2 years of experience in a similar role or industry; automotive experience a plus
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and tools
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an automotive repair shop or similar environment
• Knowledge of basic automotive systems such as brakes, suspension, and electrical systems

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in a fast-paced shop environment with frequent exposure to loud noises, fumes, and vibrations
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in cramped spaces
