Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have food manufacturing experience and be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the organization’s growth. This role requires a heavy concentration in Pricing and Costing in Manufacturing environment.
Duties
· Prepares financial statements to summarize and forecast the company’s financial status.
· Produces and manages balance sheets and analyze future earnings and expenses.
· Assists with management of accounting, auditing and budgeting within the organization.
· Assists with annual financial audit.
· Work with procurement and finance team to develop RFP process for key suppliers to include measurable KPI’s for those awarded business.
o Align vendor KPI’s to the company's customer’s KPI’s.
· Develop internal audit program to include:
o Inventory
o Labor
o Invoicing to customers
o AP to include:
- PO’s Issued
- Receiving
- Vendor Invoices
· Contract management – ensure that the company and the customers are adhering to contracts
· Develop KPI’s by departments and educate employees on those requirements
· Develop metrics for contract adherence
· Drive cost avoidance and cost savings where applicable
· Work with finance and IT teams to improve reporting internally and externally
· Works to reconcile accounting inaccuracies or imbalances.
· Ensures compliance with and prepares reports according to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
· Uses accounting software to maintain records and prepare reports.
· Coordinates with and prepares reports for CFO and upper management.
· Contributes to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
· 10 years' experience in accounting preferably in food manufacturing.
· Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills.
· Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
· Excellent coaching, mentoring and motivating skills.
· Familiarity with ERP systems.
· Strong knowledge of technology and how to leverage within the business.
· Significant financial modeling experience relevant to reporting, analysis and cost controls.
· Disciplined approach in developing and implementing standardized processes and procedures to drive results.
· A strong professional can-do attitude.
· Solid problem-solving skills.
· Manufacturing experience a plus
· Ability to travel, as needed
