Digital Press Operator

Position Summary

Under minimal to regular supervision, a Digital Press Operator understands and operates digital presses, while able to identify and troubleshoot issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Perform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner.

·         Ability to set up, operate and troubleshoot a digital printing press.

·         Adjust and maintain the digital printing press.

·         Testing inks on the printing surface to determine suitability.

·         Review job orders and specifications of prints to make correct adjustments, installation of parts and supplies to printing machine.

·         Adjust color calibration to meet expectations of the color target.

·         Handling production of the printed materials from start to finish, including printing and stacking process, to ensure it meets specifications, quality standards, and meets deadlines.

·         Inspect for quality of printed materials.

·         Performing maintenance on the print machine, including cleaning the press and peripherals.

·         Ability to be flexible and contribute to production as needed.

·         Ability to be a backup machine operator if needed.

·         Ability to work closely with colleagues.

·         Complies with all quality policies, specifications, regulations and instructions.

Required Qualifications

·         2 years’ experience with digital presses, CNC machines, or related machine.

·         Good oral and written communication skills.

·         Mechanical competency in application to the digital press and maintenance.

·         Ability to learn and obtain knowledge of equipment, methods, materials and practices used in printing production operations.

·         Knowledge of safety requirement including proper use of equipment and safety precautions.

·         Ability to understand, follow, and issue routine oral and written instructions.

·         Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues.
