Job Title: 2nd shift Bindery and Cutting Lead
Overview: As a Bindery and Cutting Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the bindery and cutting operations within our manufacturing facility. You will lead a team of bindery and cutting operators, ensuring that production targets are met while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership:
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of bindery and cutting operators.
- Delegate tasks effectively, ensuring smooth workflow and meeting production schedules.
- Provide coaching and performance feedback to team members to optimize productivity and quality.
- Production Management:
- Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet customer demands and deadlines.
- Monitor production processes to ensure adherence to quality standards and efficiency targets.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications.
- Implement quality control measures and procedures to maintain product consistency and minimize defects.
- Address quality issues promptly, investigating root causes and implementing preventive measures.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment for all employees.
- Conduct safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety awareness among team members.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies related to bindery and cutting operations.
- Equipment Maintenance:
- Oversee the maintenance and servicing of bindery and cutting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Schedule preventive maintenance activities and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades or replacements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in print/bindery operations is a plus.
- Proven experience in bindery and cutting operations, with at least 4 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge of bindery and cutting equipment, processes, and materials.
- Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Solid understanding of quality control principles and practices.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
- Proficiency in computerized manufacturing systems and software applications.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
