Cleaning Technician

Job Position: Cleaning Technician

Location: Rochester Hills, MI 48309

Pay Rate: $17.00/hr

Shift: Monday -Friday 8am to 5pm- this position 2 weeks

You will be responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of animal cages ensuring a safe and healthy environment for the animals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Cleaning :

  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize animal cages according to established protocols and regulatory guidelines.

  • Assemble and autoclave animal cages, bedding, and water bottles for sterile housing.

  • Maintain an adequate inventory of sterile cages to meet daily and emergency needs.

  • Monitor and clean equipment daily to ensure proper function and perform routine maintenance.

  Facility Maintenance:

  • Disinfect walls, floors, and cages in research areas.

  • Conduct daily inspections of rooms and identify any necessary supplies.

  • Properly handle and apply chemicals safely during cleaning processes.

  • Wear appropriate protective clothing and materials as required.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Qualifications:

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

• Experience: Previous cleaning experience preferred.

• Skills:

  • Ability to follow both oral and written instructions.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs easily.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods (up to one hour).
