Job DescriptionJob Summary
As a Shipping Clerk, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient processing of outbound shipments. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial part in maintaining smooth logistics operations and ensuring that IT equipment is securely and correctly shipped to customers.
Brief Summary of Duties:
- Prepare and package IT equipment for shipment according to company and industry standards
- Verify and process shipping orders, ensuring accuracy in documentation and labeling
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule pickups and deliveries
- Maintain records of shipped items and track shipments as needed
- Operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and hand trucks, to move and load shipments
- Conduct quality checks on outbound shipments to ensure proper packaging and handling
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area
- Perform tasks that include standing, bending, twisting, and lifting/moving up to 25 pounds regularly, with occasional lifting/moving up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
- Other duties as assigned
Experience/Education Required:
- High school diploma or GED
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures accurately
- Basic computer skills for data entry and shipping documentation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in warehouse or shipping/logistics operations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Experience/Education Preferred:
- Experience with shipping software and carrier platforms (e.g., FedEx, UPS, USPS)
- Previous employment in a warehouse or logistics-related role
- Forklift certification or experience operating warehouse equipment
