Join our dynamic team as a Microbiologist I, where you will play a key role in the daily operation and maintenance of our Microbiology Laboratory. You will be responsible for preparing client samples, enriching them for pathogen testing, creating serial dilutions, and managing incubation and media preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Full Time, 40 hours | Shift: M-F, 2PM - Close (11PM-Midnight) | Weekends as Needed
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will be authorized to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship, hold a Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, Food Science or a related science field preferred; Possess experience with microbiological testing methods, laboratory equipment, and strong understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Key Responsibilities
- Sample Preparation: Understand the flow of samples through the microbiology lab and become proficient at each step. Weigh client samples according to requests, set samples, create serial dilutions, and incubate batches.
- Testing & Quality Control: Independently perform testing and quality control procedures, ensuring accurate, defensible, and traceable results that meet client requirements.
- Compliance: Follow all laboratory SOPs and maintain compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, NELAC, and other regulatory standards.
- Laboratory Equipment: Operate and maintain basic lab equipment, such as pipetting devices, top-loading balances, pH Meter, Timers, incubators, and autoclaves, ensuring they are used correctly and reporting any malfunctions. (GLP)
- Record Keeping: Understand, practice, and maintain accurate and legible records of all activities, ensuring traceability and adherence to laboratory policies. (GDP)
- Environmental Testing: Conduct environmental and quality tests including air plates, sanitation checks, and temperature logs.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in annual GMP training, internal and external proficiency testing, and lab maintenance activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
