Job Description for Clinical Laboratory Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Laboratory Manager to lead our Anatomic Pathology team in Monrovia, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the operations and administration of the clinical laboratory testing for the Anatomic Pathology department (Histology and Cytology)
• Create, implement, and manage policies, procedures, and practices for optimal performance of the clinical diagnostics laboratory
• Direct the daily operational activities of the department, including technical and non-technical operations
• Manage staff, including hiring, performance management, training, and development
• Ensure effective communication with leadership, clients, sales, corporate operations, and departmental staff
• Investigate deviations from established procedures and ensure corrective action is taken

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, or meet local regulatory requirements
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Technologist in a clinical diagnostics laboratory
• Minimum 5 years prior supervisory experience managing several direct reports
• ASCP certification is highly preferred

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience managing people leaders
• Experience in a high volume clinical laboratory environment
