As a Lathe Operator, you will play a crucial role in our Machine Shop department, performing CNC and manual turning operations on materials provided by our valued customers.
Your Responsibilities:
- Perform CNC and manual lathe operations, setting up for long and short runs of parts.
- Center drill and rough turn specimens out of odd-shaped configurations.
- Operate multiple machines during a normal workday.
- FOLLOW ALL APPLICABLE SPECIFICATIONS AND PROCEDURES to ensure accuracy and compliance with machining requirements.
- Maintain traceability of materials and parts during operations.
- Ensure shop equipment and instruments are functioning properly and in calibration prior to performing any work.
- Troubleshoot issues, taking corrective action within established guidelines.
- Monitor scheduled completion dates and times to ensure that established schedules are met.
- Input required data into Shop-Trak software accurately and on a timely basis.
- Assist with maintaining shop equipment; including cleaning equipment, performing preventive maintenance and repair maintenance as required.
- Assist with the disposal of scrap metals turnings from within the department.
- Understand and comply with LTI's QA Program at all times.
- FOLLOW ALL SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS; utilize personal protective equipment.
- Maintain assigned work area(s) in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
