The Opportunity
We are seeking an empathetic Personal Injury Attorney to be accountable to provide the best possible legal representation while effectively managing client expectations. This is an ideal position for a genuine and hospitable individual with the skills to effectively communicate with individuals of all cultures and backgrounds. This role requires strong interpersonal skills where professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity are showcased. Success in this role will also require strong time management skills and independent judgement. As a Personal Injury Attorney, you must be able to ensure accurate and efficient processing of all assigned matters. We are looking for someone who is self-motivated and detail-oriented to handle client needs and case details efficiently.
Objective
Serve as an advocate, advisor, and counselor to clients, and assist in ensuring settlements and verdicts for clients are maximized during all phases of all assigned matters while practicing law ethically and responsibly.
Desired Outcomes
Accountable to provide the best possible legal representation to our clients and act as their advocate when working with any third parties on their behalf
Contact clients at minimum every 40 days to give case updates and check in with client regarding:
How they are doing
Status of medical treatment
Satisfaction with Laborde Earles’ handling of the case
Meet with clients as requested
Contact third parties such as insurance adjusters and opposing counsel to ensure forward movement of files
Accountable to ensure that all matters assigned are handled as quickly, accurately, and thoughtfully as possible from sign up through disbursal
Follow the Litify Matter Plan for each matter assigned and complete each task timely, accurately, and completely
Review and approve all pleadings for filing, written discovery, email correspondence and supporting documents as required
Conduct depositions and attend court hearings and mediations as necessary
Assist with trial preparation including gathering evidence and preparing witnesses
Review and approve medical treatment and expenses for client up to the limits set for further review
Review and approve client disbursals
Provide guidance/answer all case handling paralegals questions in a timely manner
Accountable to provide best possible settlement/verdict for client
Maximize all settlements/mediation/verdict amounts
In depth review of quantum, and recent developments in the applicable laws
In depth review of medical records/bills/history
Accountable to assist lead attorney(s) by performing tasks specifically assigned to you per direction from the Partners or lead attorney with timeliness, accuracy, and professionalism, while practicing law ethically and responsibly
Ensure timeliness of responses on assigned tasks and associated communication, with both internal and external parties, including but not limited to email correspondence, chatters in Litify, and phone calls
Conduct research and provide responses to questions/input on subject matter
Provide direction to other team members when advised to do so
Investigate legal issues and provide opinions on client files

Education and Experience
College degree
J.D. degree from an accredited law school
Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Louisiana
Admission to all federal and state courts in Louisiana
3-5 years of personal injury experience
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Must be able to operate basic office equipment
