In the Marine Sales position, you will be responsible for engaging with customers to identify needs and provide tailored solutions for marine engines throughout inland, offshore, and dredging markets. This role involves the understanding technical aspects of marine equipment, building strong customer relationships, and meeting or exceeding sales targets.
In this role, you will:
- Engage with new and existing customers to assess their needs regarding marine engines and equipment.
- Demonstrate the features and benefits of company products and services to customers and recommend suitable options.
- Quote prices, discuss credit terms, and present sales order forms and/or reports to customers.
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of marine products and industry trends.
- Develop and expand relationships with new and returning customers to increase revenue.
- Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth and understand market trends.
- Follow up on leads, inquires, and potential sales opportunities.
- Overcome objections of prospective customers to create new opportunities.
- Actively manage call schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time efficient manner.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and advise Territory Manager of findings.
- Maintain accurate records; including sales call reports, billing invoices, expense reimbursements, and other documentation.
- Work with internal team members, other departments and take action necessary to ensure an exceptional customer experience.
- Attend seminars and trade shows to enhance knowledge and expand professional network.
- Support Territory Manager with key accounts throughout the territory.
- May perform otehr duties as required by business needs.
Qualifications we are looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Marine Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3 years of outside sales experience; Marine experience preferred.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Solid experience in opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, call control, account development, and time and territory management.
- Demonstrated success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

What you can expect as a Marine Product Support Representative:
- This position requires frequent travel to cover the assigned territory, often includes several hours of driving per day, and requires the ability to lift items up to 50 lbs. on occasion.
- This is a full-time position. At minimum, workdays and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm local time. The team member must be prepared to adjust their work schedule to accommodate customer demands and meet company requirements.
