Overview
We’re looking for an experienced Fiberglass Patcher/Technician with expertise in fiberglass repair and gelcoat application to join our team.

Responsibilities
- Perform Gelcoat Repairs: Identify and repair cosmetic and structural fiberglass damage, remove surface scratches by sanding and buffing, and fix deeper scratches by mixing gelcoat and metal flake, applying, working it down, and spraying it to achieve a flawless finish.
- Fiberglass Lamination: Lay in and roll various fiberglass materials such as chop/mat, biaxial, woven fabrics, and foam into decks, hulls, and liners. Apply sheets of fiberglass and liquid resin into molds, carefully smoothing out surfaces with brushes and rollers.
- Maintain Repair Records: Document all repair activities, including parts and materials used, labor time, and status updates.
- Prepare & Handle Parts: Track replacement part orders, prepare items for shipping, and move materials safely between workstations.
- Ensure Quality & Inspection: Consistently monitor and inspect completed work to meet HCB's high-quality production standards and perform necessary corrections.
- Maintain Safety & Cleanliness: Follow strict safety guidelines, properly handle chemicals and materials, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
- Team Collaboration: Work cooperatively with fellow technicians and production team members, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, efficiency, and excellence.
Requirements
- Experience: 2 years of fiberglass patching, gelcoat repair, and lamination experience, preferably in the marine or yacht manufacturing industry.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in fiberglass repair techniques, gelcoat application, color matching, sanding, buffing, and finishing procedures.
- Material Knowledge: Familiarity with fiberglass materials, including chop/mat, biaxial, woven fabrics, and foam.
- Stable Work History: Demonstrated consistent employment, ideally with at least 1-2 years at previous roles or reasonable explanations for employment changes.
- Physical Requirements: Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs frequently, stand for long durations, bend, kneel, and comfortably handle fiberglass materials and chemicals.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality workmanship, precision, and visual aesthetics of finished products.
