Position Title: Grant Compliance Administrator

Reports To: CFO

FLSA Status: Exempt

Annual Contract: Full-time, 40 hours per week, 52 Weeks per Year

Rate of Pay: $50,000 to $60,000Dependent on Qualifications

General Position Summary:

The Grant Compliance Administrator will provide oversight of all University grants and guidance to University faculty and staff that are managing grants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as liaison between departmental and central offices to ensure proper submission of proposals for grants to Administration utilizing University policy and procedure and aligning grant requests with institutional strategic priorities
  • Serve as liaison for University faculty and staff managing grants to ensure compliance with University and sponsor guidelines
  • Review grant documents, prior to submission by University faculty and staff receiving administration approval to submit grant, to ensure proper and timely contractual agreements
  • Maintain knowledge of grant and other funding sources, processes, deliverables, and requirements, and monitor outcome to achieve successful applications
  • This position will provide regular review, reconciliation, and work with the Business Office to ensure financial requirements and reports are being met. The Business Office will provide financial reporting.
  • Promote consideration and application of equitable grant-funded efforts and work with faculty and staff to improve equity measures in grant initiatives
  • Collect data, evaluate grant project effectiveness, and report on grant-funded efforts to University groups
  • Collaborate with University departments or programs to pinpoint grants that could bolster their initiatives
  • Approve requisitions charged to grants after reviewing to ensure backup is attached and accounts expensed are correct
  • Review pay expense code charges for new fiscal year per information from CFO prior to HR receiving it to ensure grants are expensed accordingly for new fiscal year
  • Meet with department heads quarterly to discuss needs that may be met with current grant funding and areas to search for funding
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or University President

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in business field and at least five years’ work experience in accounting field
  • At least five years’ experience working in administration for a post-secondary institution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field and at least three years’ experience in grant management
  • Five years’ experience working in administration for a post-secondary institution

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, especially Excel)
  • Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology systems to meet work needs
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize workload to meet deadlines
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is vital to protect sensitive financial and personnel data
  • Professional manner and strong ethical code

Work Environment:

  • The work is conducted almost entirely within an office building environment.
  • Travel, as necessary, to support the needs of the University

Reportability:

  • This position reports to the University CFO.

Supervision:

  • This is not a supervisory position.
