Essential Functions: Specific duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
On-Air Personality: Specific duties include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Host a live, daily program, Monday through Friday on WLDF (92.9 The Torch).
- Maintain expertlevel knowledge of Wide Orbit, the station’s digital library/automation system.
- Plan and coordinate the daily show topics and book guests as needed. This musiccentered program should focus on timely, newsworthy, or trending subject matter. The host should feel comfortable interviewing an artist in one segment and presenting interesting, factual information about the music we play in the next.
- Produce a daily promo, briefly outlining the next day’s program to air in other dayparts.
- Plan, write, and narrate two (2) YouTube videos per month. These videos may be 5 to 10 minutes in length and may be either original content focusing on an artist the station plays (i.e. Artist biographies, Interesting musicrelated stories, etc.) or a prearranged interview with a national artist relevant to the radio station’s format.
- Contribute to one (1) Special Project video per quarter. This is to be a 10minute segment related to the chosen subject matter which will, in turn, become part of a full 40minute video.
- Contribute one (1) website article per day. This may be a piece regarding a local, community event or an article relating to music content as determined by the host.
- Contribute one (1) music review per week to the station’s website. This will be, preferably a review of an upcoming relevant release but it may also be a “retro review”, spotlighting a previously released but, perhaps, underrated album.
- Attend all required weekly/monthly meetings as directed by the Broadcast Media Manager.
- Make inperson appearances and carry out remote broadcasts as directed by the Broadcast Media Manager.
- Participate in all radio station promotions as directed by the Broadcast Media Manager.
- Work in compliance with Company policies and procedures as well as FCC guidelines
- Work in tandem with the Broadcast Media Manager to ensure that all onair talent adheres to the library rules and objectives. Using NaturalMusic, schedule music logs one week in advance for all assigned dayparts on all digital subchannels.
- Service and maintain the radio station’s digital music library including cataloging the library according to the strategy rules.
- Ensuring that the proper & correct metadata is attached to recordings.
- Work alongside the Broadcast Media Manager to determine music rotations, clock schedules, and proper music flow.
- Work with the Broadcast Media Manager to create/update a weekly Spotify playlist of new releases (both for public consumption & internal use).
- Lead and participate in the radio station’s weekly Music Meeting with all fulltime onair staff members. Discuss potential music category changes, rotation updates, and relevant artistrelated news. Solicit feedback from staff about music and discuss potential changes with the Broadcast Media Manager.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with record company staff members, promotional teams, artist managers, and concert promoters. Discuss potential promotional opportunities with the Broadcast Media Manager. Note that all labelrelated contests or giveaways must be approved by the Broadcast Media Manager as per FCC Payola/Plugola standards.
- Monitor industrywide music charts (airplay, sales, streams, concert attendance, etc.) to stay abreast of upcoming new releases, artist appearances, and, overall, the popularity of the music the radio station plays/should play.
- Work with the Broadcast Media Manager to arrange for Artist appearances on the radio station including live & prerecorded interviews with onair talent and instudio visits. Work with Engineering to accommodate the needs of visiting, performing artists.
- Administer all music licensing reports as per BMI, ASCAP, SESAC, and Sound Exchange.
- A keen understanding of WLDF’s target demographic; possess a strong desire to support diverse artists and communities.
- Superior phone etiquette with the ability to tactfully handle occasional difficult callers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.
- Working knowledge of Radio Automation Systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and the Internet.
- Ability to multi‐task with excellent time management skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- 2 years of relevant experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Reliable transportation with a valid WI Driver’s License.
- Must possess superior customer service, speaking, and listening skills.
- A professional appearance and demeanor with the ability to deal courteously and diplomatically with the public both internal and external, on the phone and in person.
- Ability to work in a fastpaced, highperforming environment and appropriately interface with similar executives at other tribal broadcast organizations and corporations as well as music and entertainment industry professionals.
- Dependable, trustworthy and responsible team player, well organized, detailed, and shows initiative, ability to multi‐task with flexibility and openness to various duties.
