Lacey Fire District 3 is accepting applications for the position of Multimedia Relations Specialist. Under general direction, the Multimedia Relations Specialist is responsible for developing strategic outreach through communication and messaging, including District branding and managing media platforms to communicate agency-wide initiatives. This role engages with stakeholders and produces coordinated messaging to achieve organizational goals and objectives.
Key responsibilities include developing and managing a social media strategic plan for the District. Lead the strategy, implementation and ongoing management and maintenance of the District’s social media platforms and collaborate as needed with staff members, manage social media tools and scheduler, monitor, manage and respond to citizen inquiries and comments through District social media channels. The position must consistently maintain confidentiality and respectful working relationships with District members, other agency affiliates, and the public while meeting the District’s performance requirements and demonstrating and exemplifying the “LFD3 Way”.
The Multimedia Relations Specialist reports to the Executive Assistant.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in multimedia journalism, communication, public relations, marketing, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of three (3) years of professional and progressive experience in multimedia, journalism, public relations and content creation is required.
- Experience working with an organization with 100 or more employees preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above may be accepted upon review.
Additional Requirements:
- Successfully complete the District’s pre-employment standards to include a suitability assessment and evaluation, background and reference checks.
- Possess or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire any U.S state or District of Columbia driver’s license and maintain such license for the duration of employment.

Wages and Benefits:
$7,866 (step 1) – 9,832 (step 5) per month DOE
