ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND OBJECTIVES:
Adjunct instructors will be responsible for working within the institution's mission to teach the objectives of the assigned course.
Courses may be offered during the day, evening, online or using other distance learning formats.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Plan, prepare & deliver lesson plans in didactic, classroom and/or kitchen lab setting in order to promote student success.
2. Promote student success through informed, accessible professional engagement that supports both the departmental and college wide mission.
3. Prepare daily lesson plans for each course using the assigned course descriptions and objectives.
4. Completes and maintains all required documentation and records, including, but not limited to, grades, attendance and student learning outcomes.
5. Use current trends and technology to enhance instructional effectiveness, including but not limited to computers, videos, guest speakers, field trips, etc.
6. Demonstrate a customer focused approach to the development and advancement of our students on an emotional, social, and educational level.
7. Be able to work in a flexible culinary/baking lab environment that will consist of moving light to heavy equipment to accommodate any given class.
8. Be able to endure prolonged periods of standing in a teaching environment. Be able to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition or Food Science or a Master’s Degree with 18 credits of educational experience in Nutrition, Food Science, or Dietetics.
EXPERIENCE:
- Relevant experience within Nutrition or Food Science or Dietetics preferred
