ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Perkins Related Functions (50%):

1. Increase enrollment and retention in the Colleges Programs of Study.

2. Works collaboratively with technology & hospitality program directors to expose secondary students to current technology & hospitality related majors available at the college.

3. Engages directly with current and potential students (secondary and post-secondary) to increase knowledge awareness of programs and career pathways.

4. Creates a supportive structure for a technical career pipeline.

5. Collaborates with Programs of Study Coordinator & Recruiter to engage with secondary districts/Career and Technical Education Centers, to increase knowledge of technology programs and related technical career paths.

6. Understands and interprets the requirements and academic options available to students, specific to technology degrees, hospitality degrees and Pre-College Program options, including Programs of Study/SOAR.

7. Supports student recruitment events (both virtual and on-site) as offered by the college within normal business hours.

8. Maintains relationships with area businesses to develop and execute inter-professional opportunities (intern/externships) for post-secondary students in related CTE s.

9. Provides mentorship to enrolled students to ensure a quality educational experience.

10. Advises secondary students enrolled in Pre-College pathways on academic issues including course selection, post-secondary options and processes related to the transition to post-secondary education.

11. Maintains complete and accurate records of school and student contacts, employer contacts, interviews, and placement of CTE-approved students.


Educational Improvement Tax Credit (50%)

3. Engages directly with current and potential students (secondary) to increase knowledge awareness of programs and career pathways.

4. Creates a supportive structure for a technical career pipeline.

5. Collaborates with Programs of Study Coordinator & Recruiter to engage with secondary districts/Career and Technical Education Centers, to increase knowledge of technology programs and related technical career paths.

EDUCATION:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Previous experience working in a high-tech setting or higher education preferred.
  • Specific knowledge of cybersecurity, robotics, automotive and/or hospitality skills preferred.
