Our Wetzel County Landfill, located in New Martinsville, WV is currently searching for a Maintenance Manager!
What You Will Do:
- Perform, prioritize, and assign repairs as needed while serving as the lead mechanic in multiple equipment maintenance and repair shops
- Diagnose, repair, or replace parts as necessary to maintain diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, exhaust systems, cylinder heads, valves, timing belts, cooling systems
- Perform wiring repairs, brake jobs, and tune ups when required on vehicles
- Performs preventive maintenance inspection (PM) diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment/components including but not limited to hydraulics, compressors, trash compactors, motors, windshields, fans, pumps
- Communicate with supervisors and operations personnel in the event of an unscheduled repair requirement that would lead to the loss of use of any truck or piece of equipment
- Maintain shop to comply with all OSHA, DOT and company safety regulations
- Precisely complete tech write ups
- Work overtime when requested
- Training of new shift trainees Special projects and other job duties as assigned.
You Have:
- Five (5) or more years of experience as a diesel technician
- Three (3) to five (5) years of supervisory experience
- Diesel Engine Technical degree and/or training or relative and transferrable experience.
- The expertise to help guide others to successful completion of their repairs while maintaining excellent repair times on their work assignments
- Knowledge in the safe operation of all garage tools, diagnostic equipment, lifts, hoists, and jacking equipment
- Ability to identify and obtain necessary replacement parts as needed to execute repairs
- Ability to read, understand and interpret technical data via instruction manual
- Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new systems and software
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment The drive to be organized and motivated to succeed with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks

- A Commercial Driving License (A or B)
- WV State Inspection License (highly desired)
