Position Summary: Installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, physical structures, and pipe and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Visually inspects and tests machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoots machines and equipment to detect malfunction and discusses machine operation variations to diagnose problem or repair machine.
- Dismantles defective machines and equipment and installs new or repaired parts.
- Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
- Installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Lays out, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, and repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment.
- Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment.
- Installs, programs, or repairs automated machinery and equipment such as robots or programmable controllers.
- Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
- Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.
- Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
- Uses individual knowledge for various specialty applications (i.e. HVAC, electrical, lubrication, etc...)

Education:
- High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience
- At least 1 year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- S. degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering is preferred
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, diagrams, blue prints, sketches, engineering specifications, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Demonstrated math skills relating to the job
- Demonstrated troubleshooting and reasoning ability
- Must have technical experience within a manufacturing facility working with CNC machines, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, compressed air, etc...
- Must follow appropriate safety precautions and protocols
- Must have experience using measuring instruments such calipers and micrometers
- Must be able to obtain Confined Space and Respirator certifications
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach overhead, or crawl
- Frequently required to climb or balance
- Must be able to lift 25lbs, at times may be asked to lift more
- Specific Vision Requirements-close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust to focus
- Environment is non-climate controlled
- Production floor is typically loud
