Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Manage and develop key suppliers to ensure optimal quality, delivery at the lowest cost in accordance with corporate policies and objectives.
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing suppliers, monitoring their performance, negotiating new rates and escalating any delivery issues that may arise.
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers and negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions
- Develop, update, anticipate and maintain demand plans for all production SKUs.
- Execute purchase orders for assigned SKUs to balance in-stock rates and on-hand inventory quantities.
- Resolve shipment quality discrepancies by mediating supplier/manufacturing issues.
- Maintain adequate and satisfactory inventory levels for Production and the QC/R&D Departments under FIFO/FEFO and using daily and weekly MRP data.
- Minimize production shortages through buying to MRP needs and tactical review of demand.
- Analyze material requirements and inventory in order to maintain on-time delivery and targeted inventory levels.
- Physically oversee and maintain inventory; analyze key inventory control measures to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze quotations received, select or recommend suppliers and schedules deliveries.
- Resolve problem situations related to selection of source, price, deliveries, specifications, quality and other terms with suppliers and functional internal departments.
- Regularly and effectively communicate any and all supply chain issues and developments to the Production Manager and team.
- Recognize your role as part of the Company’s Quality Objective; follow established policies and procedures in support of the Company’s Quality and cGMPs standards and initiatives
- Maintain work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multitask, ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks. Working within strict deadlines
- Strong analytical - problem solving skills
- Working knowledge of MRP systems and strong understanding of ERP systems. Knowledge of MS Dynamic BC a plus
- Highly experienced in MS Office (particularly Excel), Outlook and MS Teams applications.
- High school diploma or GED certificate. Associate degree in business management is very helpful
- 4 years of experience in purchasing, procurement and inventory management (FIFO/FEFO).
- Starting Salary of $23 per hour based upon experience
