Suzuki Outboard Technician

La Conner Maritime Service is a full-service boat yard with a well-established reputation, employee and customer base. Our capabilities include vessel haul outs to 110 tons, and the ability to provide a variety of related services. We are a dealer for several high-quality brands, including Volvo Penta and Suzuki Marine, with a focus on services we perform well. The most important resource is our team of highly skilled and capable technicians and support staff, who work collaboratively to ensure each customer and project is taken care of.

The Outboard Technician would be focused on Suzuki Services, Troubleshooting, and New installations. The Technician would work with our Service Department overseen by the Service Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS
1. Prior Outboard Experience is required
2. Proficient with hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
3. Excellent Troubleshooting skills.
4. Good interpersonal skills.
5. Ability to work independently and with other Technicians.
6. Problem Solving skills
7. Personal attitude of integrity, fairness, & trust.

Specific Duties
1. Perform Routine service on Suzuki 9.9 HP through 350 HP.
2. Install and Rig new Outboard installations.
3. Troubleshoot and Diagnose performance and other issues.
4. Perform Warranty repairs and commissioning.
5. Communicate effectively and professionally with customers and the Service Manager.
6. Log Details and Labor notes on the Work orders
7. Perform other, related duties as needed and/or assigned.

Essential Skills
1. Strong understanding of Marine Outboards
2. Proficient in the use of hand tools and Diagnostic Equipment
3. Ability to learn new and possibly more efficient processes.
4. Follow generally accepted professional etiquette and protocol for all verbal, written, and email communication

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 5 years Marine Outboard experience.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCE RECOMMENDED:
Understanding of shop tools and processes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
20/20 eye sight or correctable
Able to lift or move 50 - 70 Lb.
Able to stand for long periods of time

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed primarily outdoors in the boatyard. During spring and summer the work environment may be high paced and stressful.
