Summary Description:
Reporting to the Loss Prevention & Inventory Control Manager, the Inventory Control Associate supports retail stores and corporate partners in the areas of inventory control and physical inventory. The Inventory Control Associate serves as the primary contact for the purposes of physical inventory and inventory control.
He or She will be responsible for improving controls in item movement, shrinkage management and physical inventory, leading to a reduction in shrink for all retail channels. The ideal candidate will be somebody who understands the responsibilities of a retail location from both sides: as a manager, and as a support team member. This person needs to be proactive, reactive, and an excellent communicator, capable of flawless retail support skills.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with Retail Operations and third-party vendors to schedule physical inventory counts for all retail locations
- Attend some inventory counts, especially in high-shrink locations
- Tracking inventory equipment in transit to stores
- Help to manage reconciliation, research and validation process with stores, Market Leaders and corporate partners
- Partner with Accounting team to determine calculated percentage of shrink by location
- Research and present ideas to improve the physical inventory process including simplification and accuracy
- Work with individual store management teams to determine areas of opportunity to reduce shrink in stores
- Work closely with store management teams and Market Leaders to ensure complete inventory accountability in all stores
- Facilitate cycle-counting in high-shrink locations as a part of the high-shrink store program, and follow up on variances
- Produce, distribute, and summarize shrink reports for field teams and corporate partners
- Help with shrink awareness training and communication for stores
- Resolve all shipment discrepancies including delivery notification closing requests and missing delivery notifications
- Reconcile end of month transfers with accounting team
- Monitor all product movement including open delivery and transfer notifications, damage transfers and end of season transfers
- Produce weekly reporting and summary to track open delivery and transfer notices
- Work with IT, logistics partners and other corporate partners as necessary to quicky resolve all shipping and receiving issues affecting stores
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Demonstrated understanding of inventory management, and physical inventory programs
- 5 years of experience in retail with experience in Inventory control
- Ability to learn various computer applications used within the company
- Excellent communications skills, verbal and written
- Knowledge and accuracy in basic math skills
- Demonstrated excellence in time-management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Capability to build and maintain relationships with all corporate support functions
- Knowledge of MS Excel, proficiency and accuracy required
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a high level of accuracy
- Extremely detail and service oriented
- Provide off-hours support as needed
- Ability to work within budget constraints
