Job Summary:
The Assistant Laboratory Manager will play a key role in ensuring the laboratory operates efficiently and effectively, meeting the scientific and business needs of Lactalis Quality Management, Corporate Manufacturing, Marketing, and Research and Development.
This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage laboratory employees, coordinate testing schedules, and oversee the implementation of new equipment and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Lab Manager in ensuring laboratory operations meet quality and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement laboratory protocols and procedures.
- Coordinate testing schedules and manage laboratory employees.
- Investigate out-of-spec microbiological results from equipment and product.
- Collaborate with production and quality areas to reduce holds and complaints.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, analytical chemistry, or a related field.
- 4-7 years of experience in a plant laboratory preferably in the dairy industry.
- Strong basic laboratory skills (Chemistry and Microbiology).
- Strong Mathematics knowledge including stoichiometry and statistics.
- Effective and proficient communicator, both written and verbal.
- Business acumen includes problem-solving and analysis.
