Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Bindery Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining bindery equipment, ensuring high-quality production of printed materials. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of print processes, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate various bindery equipment including cutters, folders, and stitchers to produce finished printed products.
- Set up and adjust machines according to job specifications and production schedules.
- Monitor production processes to ensure quality standards are met throughout the binding process.
- Perform routine maintenance on bindery equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with graphic designers and press operators to ensure accurate layouts and designs are executed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist in troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise during production runs.
Requirements
- Ability to stand for duration of workday
- Ability to life 50 lbs
- Strong command of the English language
- Exceptional mechanical aptitude, able to learn quickly, and operate light industrial equipment
- Strong knowledge of typography and layout design techniques.
- Experience with punch and binding machinery or similar equipment is a plus.
- Familiarity with print processes and requirements is beneficial.
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Previous experience in a bindery or printing environment is advantageous but not mandatory.
- 1 yr or more of light industrial machine operation and/or trade school experience preferred
This position has the potential to go temporary to permanent.
