Lad Irrigation (Lad) is an Irrigation dealer in Eastern Washington that began in 1957 with three employees installing and serving agricultural irrigation systems in the Moses Lake region. The company met success and was incorporated in 1967. Headquartered in Moses Lake, WA with branch offices in Pasco, Othello, George, Sunnyside, Basin City, Royal City and Yakima. Lad has steadily grown to service the entire Columbia Basin in Eastern Washington and now Center CO with over 100 employees. We are now a 100% employee-owned company offering profit sharing to our employees with broad development and advancement opportunities.
We are currently looking for a General Manager to join our team. We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven, and organized team leader to oversee operations in our Center CO location. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about fostering growth and coordinating a team of adept tradesmen in the rapidly expanding irrigation market. Key Responsibilities:
Personnel and Team Management:
- Lead and develop staff across various departments (electrical, pivot, welding, pump).
- Coordinate schedules and tasks for administrative and production staff.
- Address misconduct and ensure adherence to company policies.
- Hire, train, and discipline employees as needed, with COO approval.
- Promote and participate in sales programs and events.
Operational Oversight:
- Implement and adhere to safety programs and company policies.
- Manage the store fleet and equipment, referring needs to the COO.
- Oversee inventory management, including organization and sales optimization.
- Monitor and improve paperwork processes and ERP system usage.
- Ensure compliance with administrative items, including safety, licensing, and property/equipment management.
Sales and Customer Relations:
- Conduct sales activities and customer development within the territory.
- Prospect new clients and sales opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a strategic sales strategy to achieve targets.
- Travel to farming operations to discuss irrigation parts ROI.
- Maintain product knowledge and stay updated with market trends.
- Coordinate with the parts department to drive sales growth.
Facilities Management:
- Maintain and evaluate the status of buildings, yard, and equipment.
- Ensure the security of the building, including fences, doors, and alarms.
- Collaborate with the COO on regulation and asset management.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role, preferably in retail or agriculture
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
