JOB SUMMARYLad Lake therapists serve as dedicated leaders on the clinical team, ensuring the implementation of the best trauma-informed care practices across all residential programs. They provide meaningful individual and group clinical interventions and offer valuable mental health consultations to the entire residential treatment team. This role involves coaching team members on specific interventions, implementing essential protocols, and sharing insights on effective practices. By reviewing youth referral information, therapists thoughtfully conceptualize each youth's goals and treatment needs, guiding the residential treatment team with intention. With caseloads tailored to the unique needs of each program, which range from four to fourteen youths, these therapists demonstrate a strong commitment to transformative care and healing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIESProvide ongoing individual, group, and family therapy as determined by the therapist / team leader’s clinical judgment in consultation and contract compliance.To monitor overall child management strategies and interventions and ensure that they are congruent with the goals of the treatment planAssess the treatment team's functioning in consultation with the Unit Supervisor and identify and resolve impediments to effective problem-solving.Meet with the team as needed to assess team relations and problem-solvingKeep ongoing records on the individual, group, and family therapies to summarize critical issues and establish direction for the treatment.Develop initial and 30-day treatment plans, monthly case plan reports, discharge summaries, and after-care plans in collaboration with the treatment team. Oversee and approve confinement use to ensure established guidelines are met.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSEducation / Training :
A Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or another counseling field focusing on child, adolescent, and family therapy.Job Skills :
Knowledge of normal and pathological children and adolescent development and behavior. A proven ability to work with children, adolescents, and their families who often resist treatment investment. A demonstrated ability to guide and direct the treatment efforts of a multidisciplinary team toward common treatment goals.Experience :
Formal academic training, supervision, and experience in family therapy, with an emphasis on brief, strategic intervention models. Practical experience working with a multidisciplinary treatment team in hospitals, residential facilities, or group homes.
