Maintenance Technician

About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing the maintenance and repair work in residential housing and commercial spaces, exclusively serving individuals with developmental disabilities. Supporting the functionality, safety, and sustainability of buildings, grounds, and equipment of the organization.
Department & Purpose
Facilities
Responsible for supporting the functionality, safety, and sustainability of buildings, grounds, infrastructure, real estate, and equipment of the organization; provides services such as lease management and administration, capital project planning and management, and property and equipment maintenance; and serves as liaison between LADD and establishing IT vendor.
Essential Functions of the Role
- Maintenance and Repair:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs in residential housing and commercial spaces
- Conduct inspections to identify issues in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and other systems
- Complete general building maintenance tasks including painting, carpentry, and basic masonry
- Specialized Work:
- Work closely with individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their living and working spaces are safe and comfortable
- Adapt and modify facilities to meet the specific needs of residents and staff
- Fleet Management Assistance:
- Track service schedules for all fleet vehicles
- Assist in coordinating and documenting maintenance and repairs of the vehicle fleet
- Ensure all fleet vehicles are in good working conditions and meet safety standards
- Technology and IT:
- Utilize basic IT skills to troubleshoot and repair tech gadgets and systems
- Assist with the installation and maintenance of electronic devices and security systems
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
- Conduct regularly safety inspections and maintain documentation
- Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests
- Model The LADD Way (TLW) and ensuring they're performing their work in alignment with department
- Keeps up to date on all relevant training and certifications
Additional Responsibilities
- Handle emergency maintenance needs as required
- Handle routine maintenance needs as required.
Education/Skills & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical training or certifications in relevant fields is a plus
- Proven experience in maintenance and repair work across various construction trades
- Basic IT skills and familiarity with tech gadgets and electronic devices
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities is highly desirable
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid drivers license and reliable transportation
Work Environment & Physical Demands
- Job will include being in an office environment as well as remote sites; and will require travel to other locations
- Ability to lift up to 30-40lbs of equipment and stand on step ladder
- Work schedule will normally be Monday through Friday and may include weekends and/or evenings
- The position requires working in both indoor and outdoor environments
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the facilities
- Must be able to access all parts of the company equipment
- Job will include being in an office environment as well as remote sites; and will require travel to other locations
