Position: Juvenile Justice Program Facilitator
Reports to: Senior Program Manager

About LOV
Our mission is to instill purpose, passion, and perseverance in girls, ages 9 to 18, while preparing them for college, careers and to become change agents in their communities. We match our participants with mentors and prepare them for leadership through our culturally relevant character building, career readiness and civic engagement curriculum. We provide project management, collaboration and communication training via our two to four-month project experiences to empower girls to lead in the modern workforce. After graduating from high school, with successful completion of our leadership program, participants are mentored and supported for six additional years as LOV 4 Life alumni.
Position Summary
The Program Facilitator will lead in-school and after-school programming at partner schools. Within this role, they empower youth every week to uplift their communities through our character building, career readiness and civic engagement curriculum. This work is done by building strong relationships with teachers and admin at our partner school, recruiting students into the LOV program, facilitating fun and exciting lessons. The Program Facilitator will have a deep understanding of the environments and communities in which they work. They will work closely within the Programs departments in LOV to ensure the success of the organization.
In addition, this role includes working in Juvenile Justice Education spaces/ Alternative School. The facilitator will be responsible for assisting implementing and facilitating curriculum aimed at supporting the personal development, rehabilitation, and reintegration of juveniles in alternative schools.
Time is based on Program Facilitator’s availability. Saturday availability is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee participant recruitment, support and supervision, recognition, and closure activities.
- Help to recruit mentors / speakers to the LOV Club program
- Coach, support, guide and hold accountable LOV participants to participate in project management, collaboration and communication training.
- Work directly with LOV departments, specifically Development and Marketing/Communications to ensure the LOV stories are shared.
- Utilizes creativity to ensure a fun and engaging learning environment
- Work closely with other program facilitators staff to assess, grow and improve programs
- Attend check-in meetings with managers and report on how things are going.
- If needed, work collaboratively with detention center staff, including counselors, educators, and case managers.
- Other duties as assigned by Director of Programs and Senior Program Manager.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Education, Criminal Justice, or a related field is a plus.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and in high-stress environments.
- Passion for mentoring youth living in underserved communities; previous experience as a mentor preferred
- Proven experience as facilitator, program coordinator or relevant position
- Ability to work with diversity and multi-disciplinary teams
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
- Detail-oriented and efficient
- Ability to work in a start-up environment
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with at-risk youth. Experience in a detention or correctional setting is a plus.
- Strong understanding of juvenile justice issues and rehabilitation strategies.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6-10 per week
