Day Custodian (Floater)
This position will travel among the district based on daily building needs.
Job Summary:
Assist in the efficient operation of the Facility Department within our district and to project a positive image of the Ladue School District while supporting an appropriate physical environment.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:
- Appropriate safety precautions to be used at all times while performing essential duties.
- Communicate with other staff and Building Administration in an effective and timely manner.
- Work cooperatively with other staff members.
- Use cleaning materials and equipment appropriately and on the correct surfaces.
- Clean assigned building/areas/rooms including grounds, restrooms, and waste containers.
- Assume responsibility for the safe condition of all assigned areas and/or equipment operated/repaired.
- Assist with other Facility Department operations as assigned
- Consult with immediate Supervisor and the Director of Facilities regarding any observed maintenance, safety or problem areas.
- Report any accidents or unsafe incidents to the immediate Supervisor and/or Director of Facilities.
- Responsible for moving furniture, equipment, and supplies to designated areas.

- Ability to understand verbal instructions
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
- Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to effectively organize and manage tasks/time

Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Prior experience in an educational setting (preferred)
Compensation:
Hourly rate ranges from $15.79 - $23.68, based on verified prior experience and education. This is a 12-month, benefits eligible position.
