Jacobs Entertainment is currently in search of a ships “Deck Hand” for Lady Caroline. Lady Caroline offers a unique opportunity to experience “The Land” from the water, cruising Lake Erie and the Cuyahoga River while traveling under historic jackknife bridges and taking in the downtown Cleveland skyline. All regular lunch, brunch and dinner cruises include a freshly prepared buffet and entertainment, while themed events can include dockside happy hours, murder mystery productions, wine tastings and concession-based dining options. Lady Caroline is docked at the Flats West Bank in downtown Cleveland with convenient employee parking.
This position is Seasonal Part-Time to December 2025

Essential Job Responsibilities and Duties:
- Oversee passenger comfort and safety
- Line handling
- Ship cleanliness & appearance
- General ship maintenance
- Continually maintain safe standards for vessel operation
- Immediately report any/all incidents to Captain
- Maintain and record all ship’s log as required by US Coast Guard
- Maintain ongoing communication with all shipboard employees while ship is away from its’ mooring
- Operate marine radio
Skills, Education and Other Requirements:
- Must be 18 years old (per US Coast Guard)
- Friendly and outgoing personality
- Red Cross CPR certificate (per USGC)
- Marine-maritime training preferred
- Pass USCG required urine drug screen
- Merchant marine credentials are a plus
- Must be available nights, weekends and holidays
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours during shift
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
