We are currently seeking a passionate and experienced Education Director to join our team and ensure the delivery of high-quality early education for our students.
Job Summary:
The Education Director will oversee the educational programs at our daycare and preschool, ensuring all teaching practices meet regulatory standards and are aligned with the latest research in early childhood education. This position is responsible for maintaining a positive learning environment, supporting staff development, and enhancing the overall quality of education. The Education Director will report directly to the Executive Director and collaborate with other staff members to ensure the success of our educational programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Program Development & Curriculum Oversight:
Design, implement, and evaluate the daycare and preschool curriculum, ensuring it aligns with current developmental theories and educational best practices.
Monitor the effectiveness of the curriculum and adapt it based on individual student needs and developmental milestones.
Develop and review lesson plans, activities, and classroom setups to ensure they meet the diverse learning needs of children.
Staff Management & Development:
Supervise a team of teachers, assistant teachers, and other educational staff.
Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities to staff members.
Conduct performance evaluations and set goals for individual staff development.
Promote a collaborative, positive, and supportive working environment.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
Ensure that the daycare and preschool programs comply with all New York City Department of Health (DOH) regulations, licensing requirements, and other applicable state and federal laws.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of early childhood education regulations and standards.
Monitor classroom activities, assess student progress, and ensure that the programs meet high standards of quality and safety.
Parental Engagement & Communication:
Develop and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians.
Organize parent-teacher meetings and provide regular updates on student progress and program developments.
Offer resources and support to families as needed to promote positive child development at home.
Budget & Resource Management:
Assist with budgeting and resource allocation for educational materials, professional development, and classroom equipment.
Ensure efficient use of program resources while maintaining a high standard of quality in education and care.
Child Development & Assessment:
Oversee the assessment of children's progress and development using observation and standardized tools.
Develop and implement strategies to address developmental delays or challenges.
Ensure that children receive personalized, high-quality care based on their individual learning needs.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field
Certification
NYS Early Childhood state certification(Birth to Grade 2)
F07 and S95
Experience:
At least 2 years of experience working in early childhood education
Experience with developing and implementing curricula for daycare or preschool-aged children.
Knowledge of New York City daycare and preschool regulations and licensing requirements.
Skills & Competencies:
Exceptional leadership, management, and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with staff, parents, and children.
In-depth knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
Ability to assess and address the educational and emotional needs of young children.
Proficiency in Google Drive, Google Office and early childhood education software (Brightwheel)

Compensation & Benefits:
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per year (based on experience)

Hours: 8am - 4pm daily.
