Lafayette Center is seeking an experienced Staff Development and Infection Prevention Coordinator to elevate the quality of care through education, compliance, and clinical excellence. This position focuses on delivering comprehensive staff development programs, ensuring infection prevention, and actively supporting wound care management.
Key Responsibilities:

Staff Development and Training
- Oversee all staff education, including new hire orientation, annual skills reviews, and in-person training to address areas of need.
- Develop and implement customized training programs to ensure regulatory compliance and high standards of care.
- Educate staff on facility policies, procedures, and the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, PointClickCare (PCC), to support accurate and efficient documentation.

Infection Prevention and Wound Care
- Coordinate and lead infection prevention efforts, including training on best practices and monitoring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct wound care rounds weekly, assessing and measuring wounds and providing guidance on treatment protocols.
- Oversee wound dressing changes for residents, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of infection prevention.

Continuous Improvement and Compliance
- Facilitate in-service education on compliance, infection control, and quality standards to support continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with the director of nursing and facility administrator to identify areas for improvement and implement training to meet staff needs.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a current state license.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting; long-term care experience preferred.
- Knowledge of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long-term care.
