JOB TITLE: Director of Clinical Services
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- The Director of Clinical Services reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
- The Director of Clinical Services provides vision, leadership, management, and implementation of all
aspects of clinical services including employee education, health information technology, and quality.
- Oversight of Primary Care and Specialty Care Clinics.
Position Qualifications – Educational Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or similar clinical education.
- Valid State of Wisconsin nursing license or similar clinical licensure.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Three to five years of healthcare experience required.
- Three to five years’ experience in Clinical Informatics preferred.
- Three to five years’ experience in healthcare management preferred.
- Medical Terminology and understanding of workflows are critical.
- Must be proficient and have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word etc)
- EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system experience preferred.
Position Summary:
The Director of Clinical Services ensures successful management of clinical services. This includes
managing and maintaining the EHR system, software applications, and reporting databases. Develops an
understanding of the application functionality, reporting capabilities, and the interfacing and integration
associated with clinical applications assigned to create effective operational workflows and reporting.
Deploys and/or provides appropriate education across the organization to foster safety, growth, and
compliance. Establishes educational policies and procedures and implements the standardization of
education/training processes across the organization. Ensures compliance with patient care quality standards
for the facility and with regulatory organizations.
Essential Job Functions:
- Promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization.
- Implement applications, tools and processes that assist clinicians with the management of data across
clinical applications assigned.
- Maintains changes to referential data, across clinical applications assigned.
- Assist with application implementation and system customization including the development of
alerts/hard stops, data integration, order generation, automation of document entry and enforcement
of adherence to workflows.
- Provide technical support, diagnosis of application errors, and troubleshooting with system issues.
- Interpret, modify, analyze and design clinical systems, data and information.
- Facilitate clinical content team – work with providers, nurses, pharmacists, and other healthcare
professionals to evaluate current EHR functionality and/or workflows and develop future applications
and/or workflows by building consensus and using efficient decision-making processes.
- Design and implement educational and clinical services programs and support end-user training.
- Recommends innovative ideas, processes, and/or procedures for enhancements, additions, and
modifications to improve existing systems and workflows.
- Assist with configuration and set-up of new users within the clinical systems as they relate to the EHR.
- Research patient data across multiple applications to resolve discrepancies and/or improve workflows.
- Serves as a resource person for daily operational issues within the EHR and/or clinical workflows.
- Works with other members of the team to implement solutions to system related problems to
minimize operational impact.
- Manage and lead the development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of interoperability
within the facility.
- Monitor and report quality data as related to the EHR and clinical software applications.

- Experience in clinical systems and implementations and support including system configuration,
custom development, maintenance and software upgrades.

overpounds.
- Ability to stand and or walk 80-90% of shift; and sit 10-20% of shift.
- Ability to use good hand/eye coordination, and finger dexterity.
- Ability to use good perception and discrimination related to odor, color, and texture.
- Ability to use good perception and discrimination related to functional visual ability and depth
perception; sound perception; and functional speech.
- Ability to frequently bend, twist, balance, and reach above and below shoulder level; as well as
occasionally kneel and climb as necessary to perform job duties.
