Overview
We are looking for a Sterile Processor to work in our Ambulatory Surgical Center. If you have experience sterilizer instruments, you would be a great fit! You will work with a very skilled surgical team in both the Kokomo and Lafayette offices in the surgery center. The right candidate will be able to sterilize surgical instruments in both offices each week. The Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare environment, ensuring that all surgical instruments and medical equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, and maintained. This position requires a keen attention to detail and adherence to strict protocols to ensure patient safety and compliance with healthcare regulations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of aseptic techniques and sterile processing procedures.
Duties
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established protocols.
- Conduct thorough inventory management of sterile supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Utilize knowledge of anatomy and physiology to understand the specific requirements for various surgical procedures.
- Implement aseptic techniques to prevent contamination during the handling of sterile items.
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including monitoring equipment performance and documenting any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments for procedures.
- Stay updated on medical terminology and advancements in sterile processing practices.
Experience
- Prior experience in sterile processing or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of inventory management systems and practices is beneficial.
- Familiarity with anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology is advantageous.
- Certification in sterile processing or completion of a relevant training program is required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.
