Pay : $25.00 per hour
Hours : 9-12 hours per week ( Afternoons preferred)
Primary Function : Non-Public School Title I Instructors provide small-group intervention (pullout), conduct progress monitoring assessments and planning for non-public Title I students in grades K-4, and communicate with classroom teachers and parents regarding student progress. They also work with the LSC Federal Title Programs Director to ensure all federal legislative requirements are met. All activities take place at the non-public school site.
Reports to : Non-Public School Title I Instructors report to the LSC Federal Title Programs Director or their designee.
Qualifications : Current Indiana Teaching License covering K-4 in academic areas including reading and math required (e.g., General Elementary K-4). Intervention experience preferred but not required.
Performance Responsibilities :
Additional specific duties and responsibilities may vary. Typical duties assigned to Non-Public Title I Instructors may include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Gather data to determine non-public student academic eligibility for Title I services.
- Prepare, distribute, and collect parent permission forms authorizing services.
- Develop a Title I intervention group schedule in consultation with classroom teachers and the non-public school principal.
- Consult with classroom teachers about students' academic needs and progress.
- Plan and conduct small group intervention sessions during the school day with identified non-public school students living within the LSC attendance boundaries. Use of research based instructional methods is expected. Attendance will be taken at each session and maintained throughout the year by the Non-Public School Title I Instructor.
- Communicate with parents about Title I programming and student progress.
- Collect data to be used for program evaluation.
- Communicate with the Federal Title Programs Director throughout the year about the progress and needs of the Title I program.
