Job Requirements:
Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalency required.
Experience: Six months to one year military, law enforcement or security experience preferred.
Required Certification: Louisiana P.O.S.T. (Peace Officers Standards and Training)
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Effective communication skills, both orally and written.
Essential Job Functions:
- Make rounds every hour, in/outside, including parking lots.
- Monitor the facility to curtail potential personal or property damage and to assist in identifying the Campus' security issues.
- Be available at hospital shift changes to monitor employees entering and exiting the hospital.
- Routinely control access to appropriate hospital areas.
- Intervene and dilute disturbances that may compromise the professional activity of LSSH or safety of patients, visitors, employees or property.
- Document and initiate investigation of occurrences using the approved hospital reporting system and standard training of the Louisiana State Board of Private Security Examiners.
- Work in collaboration with the LSSH leadership after hours in notifying local law enforcement agencies and securing potential crime scenes.
- Adheres to all Hospital Policies and Procedures, specifically Code of Conduct, Corporate Compliance, and Conflict of Interest.
- Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care, personnel and strategic issues.
- Demonstrates respect for diverse backgrounds of all patients, families and co-workers.
